Rest House Limited trading as The Castle Hotel in Tamworth has entered a Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation
30 January 2025
BK Plus can confirm that Rest House Limited trading as The Castle Hotel in Tamworth, a well-known wedding and events venue, has entered Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation. Richard Tonks and Kim Richards of BK Plus have been appointed as Joint Liquidators, pending ratification from the creditors.
Kim Richards said: “We understand that this news may be distressing for those with upcoming weddings or events at the venue. From our initial findings, it is clear that the business has been in decline for a while and the Company had received a winding-up petition from HM Revenue and Customs. In the circumstances, there are no alternatives but to arrange for the immediate cessation of the business.
In this initial period, our legal duties are limited to protecting and preserving the Company’s assets, whilst arranging for formal notices to be issued to creditors.
Once further information has been gathered and our appointment ratified, we will be able to provide further detail in relation to the overall financial position of the Company, along with comments on the prospects for creditors.
Please can anyone who is financially affected by this process email us at castlehotel@bkplus.co.uk, providing their contact details and nature of their claim. Unfortunately, it will not be possible for us to correspond with everyone affected at this time, whilst our appointment is in its infancy. Once further information comes to light, we will provide further updates to those affected
In an effort to assist those who may be affected, we have also added a frequently asked questions below.
